More Sports are coming back...

2019 US Open - Day 14

With Talladega Superspeedway welcoming 5000 NASCAR fans this weekend... you can tell sports are trying to come back... and some even with fans. But others will not welcome fans just yet.

The U.S. Open and the traditional Fourth of July Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest will BOTH happen this summer . . . but both will be WITHOUT fans.

The U.S. Open will be held in Queens, New York from August 31st through September 13th. They promise they'll take "extraordinary precautions" to protect players and staff, including "robust testing and additional cleaning."

Interestingly, just two months ago, the U.S. Tennis Association said that the prospect of playing without fans was a "highly unlikely scenario."

Meanwhile, the annual hot dog eating contest is happening at a "private location," instead of out in public on Coney Island. Thousands of people show up every year, even though watching competitive eating can be DISGUSTING.

All staffers will be wearing masks and gloves . . . all eaters will be tested before . . . and the location will be sanitized to the max. Also, there will only be FIVE eaters instead of the usual 15 to allow for social distancing.
